stevehowarth Posted 18 February , 2009 Share Posted 18 February , 2009 The War Diary of the 1/6 Battalion WRR is really impressive. It is very thorough and often includes detail of casualties, including other ranks. It may be sensible to leave a personal message as I am a bit sporadic in checking the forum. Tomkinson Posted 19 February , 2009 Share Posted 19 February , 2009 Steve My interest is the 2/6th Battalion. Is the War Diary for that available? I would like to offer a similar service. Mike Tomkinson Bradford
stevehowarth Posted 23 February , 2009 Author Share Posted 23 February , 2009 Hi Mike Personally, I don't have copy of the 2/6th War Diary. I was lucky enough to have a full transcript of the 1/6 Diary passed on to me via a link with the Dukes' Regimental Archive at Halifax. I'm pretty sure that they will have the 2/6 Diary there. They're worth contacting. Sorry I can't be of more help. Good luck. let us know if you have any success getting a copy. Steve

Mike Tomkinson Bradford You can download the 2/6 Duke of Wellington's War Diary from the National Archives for £3.50. 186 Brigade War Diary, of which this battalion was part, is also worth looking at for the excellent maps they prepared - it is WO 95-3084-2 and can also be had for £3.50.
