sotonmate Posted 18 February , 2009 Share Posted 18 February , 2009 Lionboxer They were at Passchendaele with 63 Division,on the left flank of an attack on the Passchendaele Ridge, were deluged with gas and HE shells, and when the attack kicked off they ran into a series of machine gun nests and deep mud, failed to keep up with the creeping barrage and lost a lot of troops. Jonathan Saunders Posted 18 February , 2009 Share Posted 18 February , 2009 They were somewhere around the Line from Poelcappelle to Varlet Farm. The action of 26th/28th Oct 1917 is one of the most famous actions in the history of the RND.
