Ramadi, Mespotamia

Does anyone know of a good source for the capture of Ramadi by British & Indian troops in September 1917? I am particularly interested in the role played by the 1/5th Queen's.

Thanks.

Jim,

There are a few pages covering the capture of Ramadi in "The Neglected War" by A.J. Barker. Not a great deal of detail on 1/5th Queen's involvement though.

Regards

Marc

1. Good description on pages 227-235 of Edmund Candler: The Long Road To Baghdad. Vol II. Cassell. Np mention of the Queens

2. Good description on pages 61-65 (with sketch map) in A.H Burne: Mesopotamia. The Last Phase. Gales and Polden. (1938). Mention of Queens taking bridge across canal.

3. Short description pn page 272 of Sir Arnold Wilson: Loyalties. Oxford. (1930). No mention of Queens.
