per ardua per mare per terram Posted 22 February , 2009 Share Posted 22 February , 2009 Here's a possiblity: Name Day, George Edward Register Number: 868 Division: Royal Marines Divisional Engineers: Deal When Enlisted/Date of Enlistment: 01 April 1919 Date 21 December 1879 http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documen...p;resultcount=
per ardua per mare per terram Posted 22 February , 2009 Share Posted 22 February , 2009 Whilst the online Medal Index Cards are helpful, they only show those who qualified for army awards as they are War Office Records. They exclude many who did not serve overseas and hundreds of thousands that did, but received their medals and awards from departments other than the War Office (such as the Admiralty or Air Ministry).
