I am trying to research Thomas Leadbetter Woodside. Initially of the Canadian Infantry (Service No, 71335) he was commissioned into the Highland Light Infantry in January 1916.

The only MIC I can find for him lists his Corps as 27th Candian Infantry but has no entry against the British War Medal or Victory Medal. It does mention that he is SWB eligible and gives a London Gazette entry of 3/91/1918. I have found the LG entry which mentions that he resigned his commission because of ill health but gives no more details.

I cannot find any entry on the SWB Medal Roll nor can I find another MIC listing his entitlement to either the BWM or VM. Can anyone help me find these.

The codes on his MIC are:-

'On R&F Roll Ex Dom 101B-188'

'SWB Eligible 31-8-1918 LG/3-9-18 9/71/4305'

'NW/4/8864'

Many thanks.

Phil.

Many thanks. I do already have his Service Record from Canada but it stops after he was commissioned in 1916 as he moved from the CEF to the Highland Light Infantry. So I have no clues as to what the illness was that resulted in his discharge in 1918.
