Cap badge and uniform ID

Could anyone cast their expert eye over these two characters. I assume they are friends/relatives of my grandfather who served in the Royal Warwicks. Obviously they are not from the Warwicks but would like some pointers as to the possible regiment so I can narrow down a few fields.

Thank you

The lower image especially lends itself to that Cap Badge I may be wrong but it is a suggestion, the upper picture seems to be wearing a Crossbelt with pouches, often worn by such...??

Here it comes again...for the third time. I am sorry if I am gumming up server space - I'm sure one of the mods could delete the previous rubbish uploads.

ID please of regiment

Cavalry (he's wearing spurs and jodpurs)?

Artillary (he's wearing a bandolier)?

Both? None?

Aggghhhh!!!!

I've just seen they've uploaded as thumbnails...how do I get them a decent size for you experts to ID? Help needed

Your picture in post 5 from the shape of the badge and the apparently short shoulder title could be Army Service Corps or Royal Engineers. He also has 3 Good Conduct badges on his lower left sleeve; IIRC this is for 8 years service.

He also has a medal ribbon above his left breast pocket which could be the 1914 or 1914-1915 Star dating the picture from early 1918 or thereabouts.

Your other picture in post 6 of the two soldiers it is is difficult to tell from but apart from Cavalry, Royal Artillery, Army Service Corps, Royal Engineers and Infantry transport sections, in fact virtually anybody on mounted duties, would have worn the uniform as you describe.

Even with the ever increasing use of lorries, the horse was still widely used in WW1 and a Driver with the ASC was probably more likely to be working with horses than lorries.

Reasonable assumption given the uniform worn in the photo IMHO.
