izzy Posted 25 January , 2009 Share Posted 25 January , 2009 Out of 19 servicemen killed in the Great war i have been very lucky to obtain the service papers of 14 of them. I know i should be very grateful for having got this far but the fact that i have no further information on 5 servicemen apart from c.w.g.c and soldiers died has played on my mind for a while. Apart from 1 newspaper article[ for J.M. Hull] there is nothing further to research.Any forum mebers have any idea,s on how to take this research forward. All servicemen came from the Tarbock and Halewood districts of Liverpool which during the great war where quite rural. The 5 servicemen are Gunner L/17331 James Crosby 170 Bgde Royal Field Artillery kia 20/12/1916 age 21. Sgt 11866 John Gouding 1st bn H.L.I kia 11/01/1917 age 22. Pte 31006 Thomas Harrison 8th bn Cheshire Regt kia 13/02/1917 age unknown. Gunner 334736 John Mathew Hull 350th seige battery Royal Garrison Artillery kia 27/10/1917 age 39. Pte 202872 David Francis Mckenzie 2/4th bn South Lancashire Regiment kia 31/10/1917 age unknown. Any help or information on these men or regiments would be appreciated.
