And is buried in Bailleul East Cemetry. Does any one have any information about what action was takeing place on April 16th 1917 At Bailleul. Kew has the War Diary of the 7th Royal Fusiliers under WO95/3119,which runs from July 1916 through to April 1919. You can pay for a 10 page download of your choice (8.50) via the National Archives Catalogue Digital Express Service,you quote the Diary number and the date range of your pages. I would suggest that you make it from,say 18th April backwards until you have 10 pages,that would probably go back before 1 April. The couple of days after his death is sensible just in case there is some late info on the actions of the 16th.
