Guest Patrick .F Posted 20 January , 2009 Share Posted 20 January , 2009 Evening all, this is my first post and I may need some help.As you probably gathered my name is Pat and I live in Kent.I come from a family with lots of military history. My eldest brother has traced our family right back to the battle of waterloo. My own father completed almost three tours as air crew/air gunner in WW2.I have been given some information on my great uncle Alfred leonard Fawson MM and would like to try and find out a bit more about him.So far I have a copy of his medal card and a picture of his grave.I can not seem to be able to find his service records and guess they may have been destroyed in the blitz of London.I have seen that the Royal Irish Rifles have a museum but it is relocating at the moment.I would be very interested how he won his medal and wonder if there is any war diaries. His brother was also killed and left a widow and two children. Thanks
