mick71 Posted 20 January , 2009 Share Posted 20 January , 2009 Hi. Has anybody any information with regard to the time the 4th reserve Battalion Loyal North Lancashire Battalion spent in Dublin/Ireland 1918/1922. In 1918 the 4th and 5th reserve Battalion Loyal North lancs were amalgimated and in april 1918 were sent to Dublin. The Battalions were partly composed of wounded men sent back to England to recuperate from wounds or diseases they had suffered in France, mainly from the 1/4 and 1/5th Battalions. Both my father and his brother were part of this Battalion and my Uncle Bernard was promoted to Sergeant to lead his company over there. Both brothers seem to have returned about april 1919. Any information regarding the stay in Ireland would be gratefully received.
