Doug,

You probably know this already but I have searched both ancestry and TNA MIC's for all combinations of 1460 Pte H Wilde Manchester Reg and found nothing even close. Search for 1460 Manchester Reg. returns 7 results on TNA none of which is H Wilde.

Medal card of Wilde, Harry John Robert

Corps: Manchester Regiment

Regiment No: 2226

If you are convinced that the TF number of 1460 and service with the 2nd Battalion is correct then it has to be one of the last two candidates. These are TF six figure renumberings (approximately post March 1917) that would have been retained even if transferred into a regular/service battalion.
