archangel9 Posted 19 January , 2009 Share Posted 19 January , 2009 Doug, You probably know this already but I have searched both ancestry and TNA MIC's for all combinations of 1460 Pte H Wilde Manchester Reg and found nothing even close. Search for 1460 Manchester Reg. returns 7 results on TNA none of which is H Wilde. John
MelPack Posted 19 January , 2009 Share Posted 19 January , 2009 Doug These are the only Wildes with a first name beginning with H that served overseas with the Manchesters: Medal card of Wilde, Harry Corps: Manchester Regiment Regiment No: 30080 Rank: Private... Medal card of Wilde, Harold Corps: Manchester Regiment Depot Regiment No: 10304 Rank: Private Medal card of Wilde, Harry John Robert Corps: Manchester Regiment Regiment No: 2226 Rank: Private Medal card of Wilde, Harold Corps: Manchester Regiment Regiment No: 252106 Rank: Private Medal card of Wilde, Henry F Corps: Manchester Regiment Regiment No: 351172 Rank: Private If you are convinced that the TF number of 1460 and service with the 2nd Battalion is correct then it has to be one of the last two candidates. These are TF six figure renumberings (approximately post March 1917) that would have been retained even if transferred into a regular/service battalion. John_Hartley Posted 19 January , 2009 Share Posted 19 January , 2009 Doug Probably worth a PM or email to Forum member "2nd Manchesters" who, unsurprisingly, has a lot of info on them. John
