Tom A McCluskey Posted 25 January , 2009 Share Posted 25 January , 2009 Kathy, His Regimental number, and date of move to France and Flanders, is not commensurate with that of a Special Reserve man. Aye Tom McC
FredJCarss Posted 26 January , 2009 Share Posted 26 January , 2009 HI Evanne There are a whole batch of numbers prefixed with SRA. Interestingly though I have never seen a medal impressed with SRA. Fred
eveanne Posted 27 January , 2009 Share Posted 27 January , 2009 Hi Fred I do not mind being corrected by all means, it is interesting to learn of "There are a whole batch of numbers prefixed with SRA". Can you qualify your statement somewhat, and give an idea of the number run. As I am somewhat of a "fog" at the moment trying to get to grips with the confusion of Reserve and Special Reserve battalions? Eveanne

FredJCarss Posted 29 January , 2009 Share Posted 29 January , 2009 Hi Eveanne The earliest SRA prefix I have logged is 10051 and the last 10419. They appear regularly in this band. There are also some with no prefix's listed, some RA and some S's. I would take an educated guess that SRA was used in no more than 500 cases. Hope this helps. Kind regards Fred
