josquin Posted 18 January , 2009 Share Posted 18 January , 2009 Pte. Robert Gannon was WIA on the Western Front, by shrapnel from German shellfire, we think in June or July, 1918. Anyone with access to the Weekly Casualty Lists is asked for help in learning what day Private Gannon was wounded--and any other information the list may provide. Thank you in advance for any help. We are very grateful for all of the information several of you made available in response to our last request. Trelawney
sotonmate Posted 19 January , 2009 Share Posted 19 January , 2009 Trelawney You might have to clarify which unit he was in as there are several War Diaires for Cavalry MG units. It might be that you learn something from his Medal Index Card or following on from it the original Medal Roll held at Kew in order to pinpoint your target. Not having seen any Weekly Casualty Lists yet I am not aware of the format, are they in sectors etc ? Sotonmate

I will research what you suggest; I know it is important to determine his unit assignments. Trelawney
