clubby Posted 16 January , 2009 Share Posted 16 January , 2009 Hi, Have just picked up the medals to 64524 Sgt H G Cox, 131st Fd Coy, RE who was gazetted the award of the MSM in Feb 1917, while with the 131st Fd Coy. I have his papers from Ancestry and they are quite comprehensive, but the MSM basically just states that it was awarded, and theres no further detail. Would be interested if anyone could help shed some light on possibly why it was awarded. It'll be expensive trawling through the Nat Archives War diaries from NZ! Cheers. per ardua per mare per terram Posted 16 January , 2009 Share Posted 16 January , 2009 Unfortunately the reasons for the award of MSMs or MMs are not that easy to find, even if one is not doing it remotely!
