RE officer attached to the Ministry of Munitions

A chap I am researching was an officer in the RE and spent his whole war on attachment to the Ministry of Munitions. His service record is still with the MOD and although I now know he was with the Department of Design I am struggling to get any further details of his work.

Today I consulted the oracle, ie William Spencer, at the National Archives in the hope that he would direct me to some Ministry personnel files or some other evidence of such an attachment. Nothing there, really. Any ideas, pals?

I see what you mean. I was hoping he might just have rung a bell. A search of the History of the Ministry of Munitions via Google Books didn't come up with anything conclusive.
