Tim Godden Posted 17 March , 2004 Share Posted 17 March , 2004 Hi All, Walter Scott Stewart Lyon served in the 9th Royal Scots and was killed in early 1915 in a haeavy shelling bombardment. He was a poet, his most famous poem being 'I tracked a Dead Man Down a Trench'. What I would like to know is what other poems he wrote. I bleive he had a collection published called 'Easter in Ypres', or something like that. But I have never come across it or any more of his poems. Does anyone know anything about him? Many thanks, Tim
Adrian Posted 17 March , 2004 Share Posted 17 March , 2004 I have a feeling that he is one of the poets featured in Anne Powell's book "A Deep Cry" (publ. 1993). I can't recall how much of his work is in there, but at the very least there'll be a potted biography. Useful book for information on the less well-known war poets.
