alfred beech

Good morning.

trying to find any info.on Alfred horace beech,other than the commonwealth war graves,i cant access public records(medal card),is there somewhere i can write to please?

alfred died,20 2 1915,service no,16084,grenadier guard.

Hi Robin.

Here's his MIC. I can't find any trace of a service or pension record though (at least, not on Ancestry).

Can i be very cheeky?

bob has a grandfather who was invalided out of the army,ww1,2nd bn grenadier guards,his name,charles beech,shot in both legs he thinks,Ypres.

he has no other info,again,is there somewhere he can write to?

There isn't really anywhere to write to these days. The only hope for his pension records to have survived. I've checked Ancestry and there are several Charles Beech's but none with his serial number (as taken from the MIC I found - below ;))

There isn't really anywhere to write to these days.

The Guards are different to the other Regiments in that they retained copies of their service records separately and as such these should hopefully be available, there may however be a cost (£25?) associated with this.

Try writing to :

Archives Regimental Headquarters

Grenadier Guards

Wellington Barracks

Birdcage Walk

London

SW1E 6HQ
