Help identyfing a uniform

I am not certain on the regiment/corps and will leave that to the badge experts, but he is probably a driver (horses) as he has spurs on, his puttees are wound top-down, he is carrying a riding crop and wearing riding breeches rather than trousers.

Can you make out his shoulder titles on the original? They look like they might be legible.

Many thanks to those who have replied - so far. My grandfather was William Henry Wilson, born in Derbyshire, but probably living in N.Yorks at the outbreak of war. he married in 1919, in Scarborough (not in uniform in photos).

I can't find any mention of him anywhere in any of the National Archives records online.
