I cannot get any searches for MICs on the National Archives search to work.... is it me??

Nope, ain't you. I just tried "Turner" and low & behold - nada, zip, zilch, zero.

Ahh ummm good.....I think :wacko:

There were plenty of Turners in the National Archives MICs last year when I was looking for one, but Ancestry is much better for MICs. It shows both sides of the card which can sometimes be important. Worth subscribing for all the other data too - census returns, Soldiers Died in the Great War, etc.

Though be aware that Ancestry have messed up the data from Soldiers Died... - the Theatre of War shows as Aldershot and the place of residence and enlistment appear to be the wrong way round.

When I contacted them about this they said "yes - we know" to which I replied "if you know its wrong why isn't there a health warning?".
