john buckell Posted 11 January , 2009 Share Posted 11 January , 2009 There were plenty of Turners in the National Archives MICs last year when I was looking for one, but Ancestry is much better for MICs. It shows both sides of the card which can sometimes be important. Worth subscribing for all the other data too - census returns, Soldiers Died in the Great War, etc. John
Ken Lees Posted 11 January , 2009 Share Posted 11 January , 2009 Unfortunately, John, Ancestry doesn't seem to have all of the MICs listed.
Guest Posted 11 January , 2009 Share Posted 11 January , 2009 Is it me or is ancestry not working tonight? Mike
shinglma Posted 12 January , 2009 Share Posted 12 January , 2009 Worth subscribing for all the other data too - census returns, Soldiers Died in the Great War, etc. John John Though be aware that Ancestry have messed up the data from Soldiers Died... - the Theatre of War shows as Aldershot and the place of residence and enlistment appear to be the wrong way round. When I contacted them about this they said "yes - we know" to which I replied "if you know its wrong why isn't there a health warning?".
