Does anyone know where the 8th OCB was based in Lichfield or have any pictures of it from the Great War?

Many thanks.

Here is a Link to a photo of cadets at Drayton Manor, Tamworth, just down the road from Lichfield. It seems probable that this is the home of the 8th officer cadet Bn.

Hi,

I have a postcard of "No 8 Officer Cadet Battalion" with a result board for the Commanding Officer's Challenge Cup. The five rows of men are sitting on the parade ground at Whittington Barracks. This is about 3 miles from the centre of Lichfield.

Interesting photo, thanks for posting.

I was just looking to see if my grandfather William McLellan was in the photo as he at No8 OCB in the later half of 1917. I don't know which company though.

Do we know if any OCB records giving names /company nominal rolls etc? It's one area of my research I haven't really looked in to before.

JPG - could you post a picture of your postcard please?

Cheers,

Andy

Andy, if you email me I will forward a copy. However, I don't own a scanner so please accept the photograph via the digital camera.
