Neil Mackenzie Posted 28 December , 2008 Share Posted 28 December , 2008 Does anyone know where the 8th OCB was based in Lichfield or have any pictures of it from the Great War? Many thanks. Neil

Ghost Posted 3 January , 2009 Share Posted 3 January , 2009 Here is a Link to a photo of cadets at Drayton Manor, Tamworth, just down the road from Lichfield. It seems probable that this is the home of the 8th officer cadet Bn. Drayton Manor 1917 Alan

John G Posted 4 January , 2009 Share Posted 4 January , 2009 Hi, I have a postcard of "No 8 Officer Cadet Battalion" with a result board for the Commanding Officer's Challenge Cup. The five rows of men are sitting on the parade ground at Whittington Barracks. This is about 3 miles from the centre of Lichfield. John
AndyMac Posted 6 January , 2009 Share Posted 6 January , 2009 Interesting photo, thanks for posting. I was just looking to see if my grandfather William McLellan was in the photo as he at No8 OCB in the later half of 1917. I don't know which company though. Do we know if any OCB records giving names /company nominal rolls etc? It's one area of my research I haven't really looked in to before. JPG - could you post a picture of your postcard please? Cheers, Andy
John G Posted 6 January , 2009 Share Posted 6 January , 2009 Andy, if you email me I will forward a copy. However, I don't own a scanner so please accept the photograph via the digital camera. John
