chrisharley9 Posted 15 December , 2008 Share Posted 15 December , 2008 An interesting one for me to have a go at - does anyone know where I can obtain DC details from the states
Carmania Posted 15 December , 2008 Share Posted 15 December , 2008 Chris According to the Hammond, Lake County, Indiana Death Index (1882-1920) he was 50 years old and died on the 6 June 1916. His death was registered in book CH-4 page 95. DC's for the US are obtained from either the relevant town/city or county and in this case it would be from the city. There is a link here which gives some details and there may be a contact point on the site somewhere. Good luck! Aled

Neil Clark Posted 16 December , 2008 Share Posted 16 December , 2008 Chris, You might like to read this - http://www.kentfallen.com/PDF%20REPORTS/BR...%20REMOUNTS.pdf Note the USA connection. Keep me informed of the outcome won't you? I have an interest in the Army Remount Service. http://www.kentfallen.com/PDF%20REPORTS/PL...UNT%20DEPOT.pdf Aylesham is in Kent near Dover. There are only a handful of A.R.S casualties on CWGC one of which is my submission C/Sgt Alf BAKER DCM. It would be nice to find yet another. PaulC78 Posted 17 February , 2020 Share Posted 17 February , 2020 Seems like an interesting case but I can't find any military records for this man. There's an entry in the England & Wales probate records, a couple of family trees on Ancestry, but nothing particuarly useful. He is on Find a Grave: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/139405705
