Greg Posted 16 March , 2004 Share Posted 16 March , 2004 If it is any help I think it is interwar. The trousers and shoes rather than boots or puttees suggest t his. They also appear to be wearing the Wolsely pattern helmet- the SAs later adopted a smaller helmet in time for the Second War. Just possibly SA Air Force which was part of hte Army and used military rank etc It loks as if it could be a sort of copy of the RAF badge with an eagle in a laurel wreath.
