Hett65 Posted 18 November , 2008 Share Posted 18 November , 2008 I have been trying all ways to find the following men in the London Gazettes without success, can anyone assist me with this task. 1. Only details I have on first man is C. Wilmer who was awarded the MC, I do not know what regiment or rank at the time of the award. 2. George A Carr of the KRRC attached to Infantry Brigade (this was in a newspaper report of 12.6.1919), which also said he was MID (Date not known), in Feb 1917 obtained a commission with KRRC, and in August 1918 promoted Lieutenant. Stebie9173 Posted 19 November , 2008 Share Posted 19 November , 2008 The only Wilmer, M.C. I can see is : MC in LG 4-6-1917 Capt. Graham Horace Wilmer, Essex R. http://www.gazettes-online.co.uk/ViewPDF.a...Horace%20Wilmer King's Birthday honours, so no Citation. Could the "C" be a "G" ? He was a Staff Captain and Brigade Major later in the War. Steve.

Hett65 Posted 19 November , 2008 Author Share Posted 19 November , 2008 Steve and Steve Thanks for the information. Wilmer could have been G rather than C as difficult to read in an old newspaper. Carr is also the right man and thanks for the extra information from his MIC. John
