NDRFT Posted 18 November , 2008 Share Posted 18 November , 2008 Hi Can some one help me decipher all the writing on this card please? This is ALL the info I have on this man other than he was born in 1904 in Bedford. I cant find any service or pension documents from which I hoped to find his parents and military history etc, Any help at all would be so welcome? Thank you in anticipation Nigel
ralphjd Posted 18 November , 2008 Share Posted 18 November , 2008 Nigel. Remarks column = CLZ = class Z placed as Army reservist after the end of the war, all the other numbers refer to medal rolls held at the NA. Ralph.

Stebie9173 Posted 18 November , 2008 Share Posted 18 November , 2008 He's a 7th Battalion man judging by his date of entry to France. However, I can't see a boy born in 1904 making it into the war at this point. He would have been 10/11 years old! Steve.

He was born in 1904 so the distant family I am in touch with reckon. They are even aware of an old picture of him in uniform - cant get a copy -. His daughter (who i am in touch with) never knew her dad he died when she was very young and it seems any docs have been thrown out. I am waiting for his Birth cert from GRO so shall see. Stebie9173 Posted 18 November , 2008 Share Posted 18 November , 2008 If this does turn out to be the right Wilfred Daniels, then he was in "A" Company of the 7th Bedfords and was wounded at the Schwaben Redoubt near Thiepval on 28th September 1916.
