Does anyone have any information on the above 1914 action and the causes of it?

Many thanks

There are some references in Dick Cronin, Royal Navy Shipboard Aircraft Developments 1912-21 and Volumes I & II of Sir Julian Corbett Naval Operations you could also look in her ships log ADM 53/49449 MINERVA 1914 June 12 - 1915 Mar. 12.

The causes were Turkey's entry into the war and the defence of the Suez Canal. Akaba had become a focal point for Turkish troops in the area.
