Recommended Posts

I am trying to find details of an Albert Ernest Beard. He served in 22nd Battalion Rifle Brigade in Salonika between 1917 and 1919

His family believe he was awarded or recommended for the DCM.

For some reason I cant get details of the MIC to come up at all

If anyone has got access could you do a quick look for me please

Gunboat,

His medal roll shows service in the 22nd Rifle Brigade, serving in theatre 2(a) from 7/9/17 to 11/11/18. Away from my reference material at the moment but I will see if there is any mention tomorrow for you.

Can't see an actual award of a DCM in Walker's DCM book, nor in the Gazette.

Steve,

I cannot recall any D.C.M.'s going to this unit but I believe there were a couple of M.S.M.'s

Gunboat,

Have been going through the material I have on this battalion, the most interesting one of these Territorial battalions. Find attached his entry in the medal rolls but I cannot find any reference to any award being given to him.
