Guest Posted 8 November , 2019 Share Posted 8 November , 2019 My brother discovered this archive held by the university of California, it maybe of interest to your contributors. The Rangers Historical Record From1859 to the conclusion of the Great War. It seems to be the war diaries of the London Rangers and gives an amazing account of their history. Kind regards, Keith. Guest Posted 8 November , 2019 Share Posted 8 November , 2019 Yes, it's the "official" regimental history, helpfully digitised on www.archive.org and free to download. Personally, I find the beastie a little too officer-centric. The best chunk of stuff is on the website of the University of Westminster Archives, which has a rather clunky version of the Polytechnic Magazine. A small caution is that only one company of The Rangers was raised from The Polytechnic, though-no doubt-plenty of others in the regiment as a whole. But,as a further caution, service with The Rangers is-for the majority-not an indication of any association with The Polytechnic. The surest guide is still the War Memorial in it's foyer in Portland Place, just across from the Beeb. I have not located any corpus of papers to do with The Rangers Anthony's Gorst's work is still the best source for those named on the War Memorial
