Charmed1234 Posted 8 November , 2008 Share Posted 8 November , 2008 Can any one please help me as I am trying to find any information about my Great-Granddad Orlando Garforth. I have found a medal card for Orlando which says that he was in the Machine Gun Corps with the regimental number 4277 and the Kings Royal Rifle Cops with the regimental number 13729. He was a Private and he was entitled to the Victory medal, the roll for this is MG.C/101B2, page 111. He was also entitled to the British War medal. If any one could help me find out which battalions he was in it would be apprecated, as this is all I could find. Orlando was born in Oldham on 7th January 1889. Guest Posted 8 November , 2008 Share Posted 8 November , 2008 Hi Halliwell, you've done pretty well yourself,to get the info you have.Had quick look but can't see any service record on ancestry either.Without that,am not sure how you will find Btn.Some expert on the forum might be able to tell by the mystery that is MIC jargon,or some other way.Look up Chris Bakers 'Long Long Trail, top left of screen. You can learn much from it. Cheers Mike.
