Below, outline as sent to me for those interested/able to make it. This will be followed by Nov 11 activities, starting at 9.45 am at the Hotel de Ville, Place de Heros.

90th Anniversary of the Armistice

Commemorative Ceremony

The Wellington Quarry,

Memorial of the Battle of Arras

5.00 pm Commemorative Ceremony

At the Memorial Wall of the Wellington Quarry, Memorial of the Battle of Arras with the descendants and standard-bearers of the British regiments who took part in the Battle of Arras.

• Overture of the ceremony by the Piper of Royal Irish Fusiliers

• Reading of the engagement message of the constitution of « the Memories of the Battle of Arras »

• Reading of soldiers’ letters who took part in the Battle of Arras by pupils from the primary schools in Arras

• Singing of a German song by pupils from the primary schools in Arras

• Wreath laying

• The Last Post/Reveille by a bugler from the Rifles Regiment

• National Anthems

6.00 pm Official launching of the project

« The Memories of the Battle of Arras »

6.30 pm Official Reception by the city of Arras
