Naval Slang

Hi Everyone

I'm up early this morning and have an easy one for you.

I am compiling a dictionary of naval expressions and slang

i.e. Calio - Easy going

I would prefer to keep the party clean for now, maybe some

of the more fruity ones later, as my grandchildren are involved

with me in this one. I would like to keep to WW1, maybe moving

on to WW2 at a later date.

Regards Margarette

Margarette,

You might like to get hold of a book by Lew Lind entitled "Sea Jargon."

I believe the folk singer Cyril Tawny (himself an ex Grey Funnel Line man) published a guide to navy slang
