Remembered Today:

How to find family records

Firstly, apologies if this is already available, but tried a Search and didn't find anything to answer fully.

With all the TV etc programmes about the 90th Anniversary of the Armistice, is there a "How to" step by step guide that would help anyone wanting to find out about what a member of their family did in the Great War?

What if you just have a name, who survived WW1 so no CWGC etc to start, especially if no longer in the area, internet principally.

Matthew Kelly was on TV last night, and found out about his great uncle. Is there something that can be done for non-celebs?

Is it worth putting together a guide or am I reaching for the stars?
