Imperial War Museum Competition

Hey guys,

I have won a place with the Imperial War Museum, CWGC, big lottery fund and Their Past Your Future organisation to go to France and Belgium for the 90th anniversary of the armistice.

http://www.cwgc.org/content.asp?menuid=4&a...n&menu=main

the competition is called "Away to remember"

I compiled an album of photographs about my local heroes of St.Dogmaels.

Next weekend I will be heading off with another 26 people from all around the UK to report from the battlefields 90+ years on.

I would really love it if you could look up this site

http://www.radiowaves.co.uk/90

When we're in France and Belgium we will be sending pictures, adding blogs and videos to the site for you watch/look at and ask questions.

We are trying to get 10,000 visitors to the site so please help out and see what we're up to.

Nice work, Jen.

(Could I say how wise it was of the Army Cadets not to try marching in step on the Remembrance Parade - very difficult thing to achieve. best not to try. ;) )

Thanks for the heads up on this activity. Well done on winning a place on the trip - well deserved. I will certainly be following the journey on-line.

As I work in a Forces school in Germany you have also brought an interesting idea to my mind over getting involved in TPYF.

Enjoy the trip.

To other Pals reading this thread - is it not fantastic that such projects are being done in the name of Remembrance? Let's hope that this kind of thing can snowball - the mix of history and technology is a potent one for young people. (I just thought - that's us as well - so maybe not only young people!!) :P
