Aircraft Base at Carling House, Fife?

Has anyone heard of the 'Aircraft Base' at Carling House in Fife? I'm trying to find details for my father. We can't find any details anywhere. We're presusing it's a RNAS station in the Rosyth/Aberdour area?

Cheers,

Duncan.

Could that be Carlingnose at North Queensferry?

I think that John is correct and this is Port Laing (sometimes known as Carlingnose) North Queensferry, East of Rosyth. Three aircraft hangers were completed by 1912 with two Short biplanes and one Maurice farm biplane based here. It was the first military airbase in Scotland. Location 66/NT133814 on ,Landranger map.

All the information from Malcolm Fife's book "Scottish Aerodromes of the First World War"

Ian

Further to previous posts it seems it was closed down in early 1914 and all the aircraft and some of the equipment was transferred to the seaplane base at Dundee
