In all he was wounded in action three times, on 15/9/16, 15/4/18 and finally on 18/9/18, can anyone give me any info as to where 9 Norfolks were on these dates. Thanks IanC
jay dubaya Posted 16 October , 2008 Share Posted 16 October , 2008 Hi IanC, Here's the doings for the 15th November 1916 The 9th Bn took up line on Ginchy-Leuze Wood Road for attack on The Quadrilateral (15/9). Advance is recorded as being with insufficient artillery support - barrage having gap of 200 yards just in front of The Quadrilateral to allow advance of tanks. Leading waves held up by uncut wire and forced to retire. Relieved at midnight and via trenches south of Guillemont to Trones Wood. Casualties - 431.
