lionboxer Posted 13 October , 2008 Share Posted 13 October , 2008 Reginald BEAUMONT aged 23 died of Pulmonary Tuberculosis at home here in Bergh Apton, Norfolk on 5th Jan 1921. His occupation is given as Gardner (Domestic) Ex Army (Pensioner). His MIC states RFA (877001) and RAMC (2463) with VM and BWM. Also SWB list RA/3195. His identity is confirmed as amazingly his address is on the back of the MIC. There's no service record extant, at least not on Ancestry. Would he be a contender and if so what do I do now? His elder brother Robert was killed in 1917 with 22 Mancs. Lionboxer
Terry Denham Posted 13 October , 2008 Share Posted 13 October , 2008 You only have half the story. The cause of death has to be related to his service and so you will need to ascertain if he was discharged due to TB or similar complaint. As TB was rife in the general population, he may have contracted it post-service and his discharge could have been for totally unconnected reasons. Until you can make the connection there is little you can do.
lionboxer Posted 14 October , 2008 Author Share Posted 14 October , 2008 Would the SWB rolls give any useful details? Other than that I don't know what other documentation would help. Lionboxer
Terry Denham Posted 14 October , 2008 Share Posted 14 October , 2008 You would probably need the service record or some documentation from the pension records if they exist.
