Vladslo German Military Cemetery November 13th 2006

I can't tell you the feelings this stirs in me, with the rain and the sculpture in physical and emotional torment. Katie Kollwitz was able to convey so much in this and you can almost feel the untouchable anguish of her work.

Remarkable photograph.

This is one of my favourite pictures taken at Gallipoli - it is a statue of a Turkish man carrying an English soldier, wounded in no-mans land, over to the Australian trenches.post-20012-1175436178.jpg Cheers Shirley
