My Great Uncle fought with the Warwicks but on a picture of him in uniform, there's no antelope in sight on the cap badge. The regimental museum seemed to think if he'd joined up at school it might have been a badge specific to the school. They couldn't find it in any of their badge directories and there was no record that he'd been previously with a different regiment.

Can anyone shed any light on this? THanks.

Faulkner, Willliam John Henry, b. Birmingham, e. Birmingham (Small Heath, Birmingham), 26617, Pte., k.in a., F.& F., 28/6/18

He died age 19 in Operation Borderland (28th June 1918) outside Merville, no grave but a quietly impressive memorial at Ploegsteert.
