Remembered Today:

Harry Patch

The last 3 days have been truly special. To stand alongside Harry yesterday, as he unveiled his memorial was absolutely amazing! The memorial is on the very spot where Harry crossed the Steenbeek all those years ago. Alongside his battalion that day, was another 20th Light Div battalion. My Great Uncle's battalion, the 7th SLI. Yesterday, Harry took it all in his stride.

Tonight as Soren said. He was under the Menin Gate Memorial. He spoke to the crowd and said " Remember the fallen from both lines" The tears flowed and the public loved him for it! The last 3 x days, what with the memorial opening, the burials at Cement House and tonight's ceremony has been the highlight of my year for many reasons. Thank you Harry!

Best wishes.

Chris.

Just found out this thread with loads of pics are in another thread, The Western Front.
