Guest gwen Posted 1 March , 2004 Share Posted 1 March , 2004 I have a photograph that I would like to know more about and would appreciate any help you can give. The photograph is a studio shot of a uniformed French soldier with a dog. The German Shepherd dog is standing next to the seated soldier, but his front paws are resting on the man's legs. The man is wearing a braided medal over his shoulder that appears, when looked at closely, to have a dog's head on it. What can be discerned from this photograph? Also, I will be in London during the Easter holiday and would like any suggestions on my time spent there in researching this photograph. Thank you in advance! Marco Posted 1 March , 2004 Share Posted 1 March , 2004 The use of dogs is described in: Baker, P.S. ANIMAL WAR HEROES. 1933, 130 pages, 22x15 cm., A. & c. Black Ldt. No photgraphs though apart from the heroes themselves. Regards, Marco
gem22 Posted 1 March , 2004 Share Posted 1 March , 2004 Gwen Can you post a copy of the photo on the Forum? You might get a better response that way. Garth
