Remembered Today:

Look what I found in the garden!

Just found this whilst messing about with a metal detector in the front garden of our new home with the kids this afternoon.

I'm guessing it's a lapel badge, possibly WW1? Any better opinions?

Any time from about 1902 to 1953, but most likely 1914-18 or 1939-45.

Officer's rank badge, Major, or with additional "pips" Lt-Col on up.

Also worn by Warrant Officers on the sleeve, or above Sergeants' stripes.

Or could be Police or Prison Officers rank badge. I believe that zoo keepers also wore them as cap badges.
