Very impressive. I had no idea this was happening. With all those kilts around, it was a good job the ridge was not so windy!!

Thanks for posting.

I had no idea either.

I really can't believe that a year has passed already.

Congratulations to Erwin for everything that he has achieved regarding this memorial, our memorial. He made this Scot very proud.

It was only about 40 minutes long. Organisation was by the Passchendaele 1917 Pipes and Drums, not by the Memorial Museum.

Where did that year go. It looks like they have had the same weather today as they did just over 12 months ago.

What was the exact date last year the memorial was opened please, for some reason I believe it was earlier in September.

Nice to see the Passchendaele tartan being worn, and also covering the bags on the pipes the lads in Great war gear are playing.

Does anyone know if John Sutherland was at this years ceremony ?

I just can't believe it has been a year! I have been back to Ieper about 4 times since then and it always gives me a hugh thrill when I pass the monument. I just wish I could have been there yesterday.

Who was the other band that was at the memorial, I've never seen them before?

Regards,

Stewart

Was the Fleming Pipe Band. The Flanders Memorial Band was also going to participate, but had some bad luck with transport and arrived to late.
