David B Posted 7 September , 2008 Share Posted 7 September , 2008 Were widows and/or next of kin of soldiers KIA ever given any sort of pension. I was wondering the other night as to how my unseen Aunt in Jersey would have got on from 1916 after her husband was killed at Thiepval. She was left with two small children as well. ulsterlad2 Posted 7 September , 2008 Share Posted 7 September , 2008 The Canadian government granted my great-great grandmother a pension when her son (my great grand uncle) was killed. Here's notification of it from his service record
David B Posted 8 September , 2008 Author Share Posted 8 September , 2008 Thanks guys, There does not appear to be any reference in the Pensions data base on Ancestry, of course it is possible that they have not yet completed that section or the records (like a lot of others) may have been destroyed and the only reference I have is his MIC card David
