Stephen White Posted 27 February , 2004 Share Posted 27 February , 2004 Has anyone got the above on CD-ROM,if they have could they please look something up for me. About two weeks ago i aquired the BWM and Victory Medal, for the man who i believed had married my Great Grandfathers widow.i was on the CWGC site last night and punched his details in and he came up as having died on the 27.04.1917 and is commemorated on the Arras memorial. I had always believed he died as a civilian in the 1920's,not in action. My Great Grandfathers Widow and this man Arthur Lambeth, had a daughter,it is possible that she was born before he was killed as she died in 1997 in her late 70's early 80's.The medals came from a suitcase in her house,so she certainly seemed to think they were her fathers medals.i was hoping the Soldiers Died in the Great War might have a little bit more information on him. His name was Arthur lambeth,305702,11th Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment, died 27/04/1917,commemorated on the Arras memorial. Thanks in advance Steven

stiletto_33853 Posted 27 February , 2004 Share Posted 27 February , 2004 Steven, Looking in the document depository, Rob Williams has the Warwickshires history, maybe he would be able to tell you what the 11th were doing on the date of Arthur Lambeths death??, who knows. Stephen White Posted 27 February , 2004 Author Share Posted 27 February , 2004 Steven, The only extra bit of information the SDGW CD gives is born Aston, Birmingham and Enlisted in Aston. Andy Andy That's all i needed, that what i was looking for,his place of birth and place of enlistment. It needs a little more research, but it LOOKS like the right man.The only information i have from the family is that the A.LAMBETH i'm interested in was an Aston man through and through !!. Thank you very much for your time. Steven
