Overseas Index check. SDGW/CWGC conflicting dates.

Herbert is shown on CWGC as 2/10/16 and SDGW as 2/10/18. Could someone with access to the Overseas Index please look him up. It's most probably 1918 as he is in the LG having a MM in June that year.

For info, I assume he died of wounds at one of the CCS adjacent to where he's buried. On 2/10, the battalion were in reserve undertaking exercises but had been in action between 26 & 29 August, with some heavyish casualties. Can't see mention in the war diary of his MM award, although a June Gazette dates probably puts the action into March - 6th Mancs "big days" were 25 - 27th.

Thanks. Yes, he did die of wounds. I've refered to him in my reply to your Caernarfon Archives look up. You are probably answwring that now as I type and post will get crossed and all confused.
