Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone had any information on the "Marama". As far as I know she was a hospital ship. A relative served on her for almost 4 years. I like to know what exactly the ship did, i.e. where it went.

Kind regards

Iain

Iain.

I can't help you with specifics, I'm sorry. However, the National Archives of Australia holds some records relating to the MARAMA. Most are post-war but there are about 17 records for her during WW1, including:

Marama Official Log Book 1/6/1915 - 19/8/1915

Marama Official Log Book 6/9/1915 - 9/11/1915

Troopship records 1916

And some passenger lists for 1915 and 1916.

Some photos of MARAMA are available via Picture Australia.

regards,

Martin
