alf mcm Posted 28 August , 2008 Share Posted 28 August , 2008 I am researching Sapper James Smith Armour, 25445, 203 Field Company Royal Engineer, 3rd Section, B.E.F. {This information comes from his family, he didn't always use the 'Smith' in his name, and he survived the war}. I have a few queries. Firstly, I can't find a medal record card for him. Secondly, what type of Company was 203? I would appreciate any help. alf mcm Posted 28 August , 2008 Author Share Posted 28 August , 2008 I should add that his family reckon he served in France. His service may not be totally correct. Regards, Alf McM

MelPack Posted 28 August , 2008 Share Posted 28 August , 2008 Alf I have had a look at the RE Spr James Armour 42693 MIc and the date of entry is 26/7/15. The 35th Division arrived in France in Jan/Feb 1916 so not promising. Regards Mel
Stebie9173 Posted 28 August , 2008 Share Posted 28 August , 2008 The qualifying date of 26-7-1915 is usually assoaciatred with 18th Division. Steve.
