Andrew Hesketh Posted 25 February , 2004 Share Posted 25 February , 2004 Yes, I know I'm not new here, but I've a question which is probably very simple to answer. I have a list of men from a village who served in the war. Following the name the regiment is given. Most are abbreviated e.g. RAMC, Y&L etc. and I've no problem with those, but after the name of the Reverend W. Bullock it says 'CF'. I've no idea what CF may stand for (Chaplain something?). Any suggestions please? Thanks, Andrew
Blackblue Posted 25 February , 2004 Share Posted 25 February , 2004 Andrew, I would guess Chaplain to the Forces. Have seen this term used before in respect to chaplains. Tim D
HERITAGE PLUS Posted 26 February , 2004 Share Posted 26 February , 2004 Yes Chaplain to the Forces. HCF can also be found meaning Honorary Chaplain to the Forces.
