Guest Anne Lynch Posted 28 August , 2008 Share Posted 28 August , 2008 I am researching my grandfather's service in the RAMC and have positive information that he served as a doctor in a hospital in Salonica Greece. Could anyone help me with information on what Field Ambulance units etc were there during the campaign. Unfortunately there is nothing left of the records and I was hoping to find out what unit he served in.
ian turner Posted 28 August , 2008 Share Posted 28 August , 2008 Anne, Welcome to the forum! Have a look at the section 'Other Theatres' -I think there was a topic about hospitals at Salonika in the not-too-distant past. Ian

n cherry Posted 28 August , 2008 Share Posted 28 August , 2008 Anne, Welcome to the forum.....can I suggest the book 'Under the Devil's Eye' by our old forum friends Alan Wakefield and Simon Moody.....has a chapter in it called 'Medical Provision and Hospital Life'.......any mistakes in this chapter blame me partly as I proof read it! You might also think about speaking to or visiting the Corps Museum.....if you are not too far from Aldershot as they have copies of the Medical Services Offcial Histories on the Salonikan campaign.....
