Could anyone help me with a soldier from the 2/1st Ox & Bucks

His name was George William Haynes a Private, No. 240742

Killed in Action 28/08/1917 aged 42 around St julien, Ypres.

I have Soldiers died Info & CWGC but would really like a battalion diary, trench map, or any other related info.

I have been trying to help his Grandson put together a picture of what happened, but have got a bit stuck :(

Apart from the battalion, Bde and Div diaries at Kew, there may be copies in the Regt museum.

Also have a look at Chris McCarthy's book, 'Passchendaele Day By Day'. This contains copies of official maps for many of the attacks.
