Robert Dunlop Posted 25 February , 2004 Share Posted 25 February , 2004 Sorry, I can't help for that day. The nearest reference I have is for 10 April when 'late morning, one squadron of the 10th Hussars and two of the Essex Yeomanry, both of the 8th Cavalry Brigade, sent out patrols. All three ran up against intense machine-gun fire (while in Monchy-le-Preux) and suffered a number of casualties.' Another source reports that it was shell-fire that caused the casualties, with the MG fire occurring later in the day.
